I got the following from a granddaughter of Alvaina Jump. If you can help her, please contact her:
Name: Tabatha Barlau
E-mail: babychicksassy@yahoo.com
Telephone:
Comments: I was doing some family history research and came across your list of lost classmates. My grandmother is Alvina Westling (Alvina Bernice Jump) she married my grandfather Dennis Barlau. She currently lives in Osceola, WI. I hope this helps. I was also wondering if you have anyone that has any pictures or stories about my grandmother, It would be really cool to see. Im trying to find out as much as i can about my family history that would be awesome to show her or talk to her about, along with other relatives.

I've added an article from the Waukesha Freeman about Albert Gorham, a 1938 graduate of Waukesha H.S. and a member of the Tuskegee Airmen, also known as the "Red Tails" and the subject of a recent movie by that name. The Article is #72 in the "Cardinal Star Stories" photo album. After being credited with destroying 2 German aircraft, Lt Gorham's plane went missing in 1945. Although he was not a member of our class, I thought a lot of people would like to know about him.

The "In Memoriam" page has been edited and photos of Jean Wiesenthal and Bob Sparrow have been added.

The bad news: A photo of the late Gene Sullivan has been added to the "In Memoriam" Page.

The good news: Ann Davies Shea let me scan some of her photos from the reunion, and an old photo of the 5th and 6th grade classes at Randall School. These are photos 30-32 in the "Curent Photos" album, and photo 25 of the "More From School Days" album.

I've added pictures of the late Gary Baumeister who lost his battle with cancer in August.

The following is from the sister of our late classmate, Richard Holmberg:

Dear Dave:

I wanted to thank you for posting my request on the WHS -58 website to solicit information from classmates of my brother. He died so young and so long ago, it was a long shot. I had a short reply from one gentleman who said he remembered him . But Dennis Yuhas, the spouse of a former classmate, saw the note by sheer serendipity and said my brother was one of his best friends. He has been writing back and forth with a wealth of memories about my brother during his last year. He told me of the cruising up and down Main Street and around town and the parties they had. I knew none of it as my brothers and I each lived in our own ways.  But the notes from Dennis have been a godsend to me, and his first note of memories came up in my email box on the 51st anniversary of his death Sept. 11.

On that point, I would like to add a correction. Richard died in 1960, not 1961. That was a slip for which I apologize.
Dennis was able to fill in the blanks for me about the day my brother died. All I knew was he had tried out a friend's motorcycle and lost control. Through Dennis I know the motorcycle was a Triumph Bonneville and that Richard had ridden it quite a bit with a friend following in Richard's car. And he lost control trying to avoid the two pedestrians who were ultimately knocked down. He also said the group had met at the Kroger parking lot but Richard's accident, as I knew, was actually downtown by the river, by the A&P store and State Bank. This has helped me in ways I cannot explain, I know my brother better and will be better able to write his story for the future generations.
Also, a blessing that my nephew who was named after his late uncle feels a new tie with him that he had not before. He had not known anything about him other than that he was deceased and he himself bore his name as his middle name. My nephew, like his uncle,  also is one to love cars and to work on them thus feeling a bond with his namesake. My brother's last job was as a mechanic, I think it was Haley's four corners jeep. But 51 years is a long time to remember a detail like that.

Dennis had also bought my brother's previous car before he owned the Thunderbird, his dream car. Dennis sent me photos of Richard's 1951 Mercury as it looked in front of Dennis' home in Waukesha later on.

I am hoping others will also come forward. I would like to hear stories about him, things they did, what kind of a guy he was outside the home. He always seemed a bit bigger than life sometimes as he would fill a room when he entered it.  He was outgoing and chatty and smart. In the meantime, I wish to thank you again for posting my note.
Sincerely, Karen Holmberg Spoentgen

Note that I'd love to post more photos, either current, from High School days, or from the years in between. If you don't have a scan, send me a print (Or even a negative or a slide) and I'll scan it and send it back. Or, if you'd like to send some text, I'll post that too, unless it's complete drivel.

I have updated the "In Memorium" section with a picture of the late Gary Baumeister. In a happier note, I have added a picture of Richard Holmberg and his sister Karen in the Photo Albums section, "Photos from School Days" picture #31. Richard and Karen are in Richard's T-Bird, and the photo was taken a few months before Richard's death in a motorcycle accident.

Friends:

It's my sad duty to keep the "In Memorium" section updated, which I did today with a photo of the late Kathy Christopherson Boglitsch
.

Also, I got the following from the sister of Richard Holmberg, who died in 1961, who would like to hear from anyone who knew and had memories of her late brother:

E-mail:
KarenJean@Prodigy.net

Comments: Just wanted to thank you for your website. I looked it over and saw a couple people I grew up with but didn't know all that well. But what makes it more special to me are the class pictures as you had the senior picture of my brother Richard Holmberg. I do not have that photo as his things are long gone. He died 11 Sep 1961 after trying out a friend's motorcycle.
I am wondering if any of your classmates have any memories of Richard to share with me. I would appreciate hearing them.

Friends and fellow classmates:
Your hard-working and competent reunion committee held a working luncheon at Pano’s restaurant in Goerke’s Corners in Brookfield. We came up with a few very tentative plans for the reunion in September of 2013.
The tentative dates for the reunion are Thursday, September 19th, Friday September 20th, and possibly some activities on Saturday September 21st.  The restaurant (Pano's) looks like a good place to have the function[s] as it is centrally located, with lots of nearby hotel rooms in an array of prices.

We will probably have an informal get-together on Thursday evening for cocktails, and leave dinner details for the attendees. Friday morning there is a weekly occurrence of the Blackshirt Breakfast, and on Friday evening there will be a cocktail hour or two and an informal buffet dinner with a brief presentation. If possible, and subject to attendee interest, perhaps we can schedule a tour of the Central Campus buildings in Waukesha.
Note that the above plans are very tentative and subject to changes and/or rescheduling.

If you have suggestions or objections, feel free to contact any member of the committee.

Classmates:

I have added an article from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel about a reunion meeting of Waukesha HS South swimmers and divers. The meeting was to honor the coaches of the Swim teams who had lots of state championships.

I attended and took some pictures, and have posted the article and pictures in pictures 41-45 of the "More Current Photos" album. If anyone qwonders what Jim kerr looks like after over 50 years, check out the photos. HINT: He's still thin.

Fellow Classmates:
As the keeper of the Web Site, I was happy to see that there have been over 12,000 visits (or "hits") to the web site since it went online. Since we've got around 400 classmates identified, and have contacted about 300 of them, this means an average of around 40 or so "hits" per class member. I'm proud of this number, as it means that the web site is well used and my efforts are not in vain! Thanks, and we'll see you in 2013.

Folks:
As webmaster, it is my duty to keep the "In Memoriam" section of deceased classmates up to date.  After procrastinating for months, I have finally updated it with pictures of all of the deceased classmates that I know about. Needless to say, this is not my favorite chore.

P.S. I just added Frances Longley's picture.

Fellow Members of the Class of 1958 at Waukesha South High School:
There are over 130 Classmate-written autobiographies on the web site at
These tell the life stories of your classmates in their own words.
Many of you do not have Internet access to read them, and others find that reading off of a computer screen is a nuisance at best. Lots of you have indicated that you would appreciate a paper copy of these biographies, so I have gotten 40 copies printed. These will be available for $7.50 each. For your copy, send a check (or cash) to:
Dave Fuller
n30w23062 Pineview Cir.
Pewaukee WI 53072
Note also that Class rosters are available for $5.00, and
the Reunion DVD is available for $20

Note also that the web site is still up and still open for business. If you have any photos of the Reunion, or old photos of high school days, or pictures of you with or without your families, or narratives of high school memories, e-mail them to:
Or mail me a copy at the above street address. If you include a Self-addressed stamped envelope I’ll return your prints. Note that negatives can be scanned and added to the web site.
Also, remember that biographies are still open and can be added at any time. This is easy to do (follow the directions) or else mail or e-mail me the biography, and I’ll take care of the rest.
In less than 4 years we will have our 55th reunion! Make plans to meet with your old classmates in 2013 in Waukesha. We had a wonderful time in 2008, and are planning a great time in 2013.

Micki Hunter Bender sent a great copy of a photo from the 50's of Joe Connelly and Dave Larson. It's Photo #21 in "More From School Days". Also, #22 is a photo of the 5th grade class and #23 is a photo of the lovely ladies of '58. Thanks Micki!

ATTENTION : IF YOU KNEW AND LIKED JIM KERR, SEND HIM AN E-MAIL AT:
JIMKERR@ISLANDS.VI
HE'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOME OF YOU, I'M SURE.

The section called "Roster Changes" updates names, addresses, and/or telephone numbers of the Class O'58. Look at this section to get the latest info. For example, we  have a new address for Sharon Case, and updated the e-mail address for Bob Comstock, who would like to hear from some of you.

The 50th reunion was held September 12th and 13th, 1958, and was a rip-roaring success. Our next reunion will be the 55th in 2013.
