From William:
After graduation, I did a hitch in the U.S.Navy, discharged honorably in Sept. 1961, as a 2nd class Machinist Mate. Met and married Margie in Oct. 1963 after a six-month courtship.  Daughters born in Nov. '66 and March '69.  Son born Feb. '71.
Moved from Muskego to Upper Michigan in Nov. '74.  We live in northern Menominee County....God's country!  Can't see my closest neighbor, but the Island Resort & Casino and Hotel is just a mile away.
Margie is still working as a legal secretary.  I retired after 45 years in 5 different machine shops as a toolroom machinist.  The last 23 years as a toolmaker with Anchor Coupling Mfg. Co., a hydraulic fitting manufacturer owned by Caterpillar, in Menominee, MI.
We have 9 grandchildren from 14 years to 3 weeks.  They all live close by so we see them often.
We enjoy vegetable gardening, camping, and traveling.  Made many vacation trips around our beautiful country and Canada.  I also like hunting deer, birds, and predators, fishing trout and smallmouth bass, exploring with a canoe and metal detecting.
I hope to see some of my old friends from Muskego, New Berlin, Sussex, Wales, Pewaukee, and other outlying towns - especially the girls!  I've put on a few pounds, wear glasses, but still have all my hair.  Really looking forward to this party!!  See you in September.

Occupation:  Retired Registered Nurse
Marital Status:  Married
No. of Children:  3
From Nancy:
Whew, trying to condense down 50 years of my life into a few paragraphs is tough but here goes! After high school graduation, I completed nurses training at Northwestern University in Chicago and received my R.N.  After briefly returning to Waukesha to work in the operating room at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, I moved to Miami, Florida and it was there that I met and married my first husband, Gary Shardell.  We then moved to Cleveland, Ohio where we lived for  4 years and where our son, Jeffrey, was born in 1965.   Because we missed that wonderful Florida sunshine, we moved back to Florida and lived in Fort Lauderdale then in the Tampa area.  Over the years I received my Bachelor's "Degree from Florida International University (Miami) then my Master's Degree in Education from the University of South Florida (Tampa).  I got divorced after 14 years of marriage and stayed in Florida for many years until I made the decision 20 years ago to move to California to be closer to the rest of my family who had relocated there from Wisconsin in the 1960's.

A few months after arriving in California, I met the great love of my life - my  husband, Lou Wolner. We fell in love and got married in 1989.  Lou and I have three children - my son, Jeffrey, who is director of sales at Google here in Mountain View; my stepson, Joe, who is a teacher in Chico, California and stepdaughter, Kirsten, who is a professional dancer in Las Vegas.  We live close enough to them so that we enjoy being a part of their lives.

My nursing career has provided me many opportunities for interesting jobs:  I have worked in hospitals (surgery and emergency rooms) and public health, taught high school for 9 years, and most recently spent 12 years as manager/director of 11 school-based primary care clinics in San Jose, then three years as the executive director of RotaCare Clinics (overseeing 9 free clinics in the San Francisco Bay area). I found a great deal of satisfaction and fulfillment during the 15 years I spent running free clinics to meet the health care needs of the poor and medically needy.

I stopped working three years ago in order to oversee major construction of our house and landscape here in Los Altos, California, and haven't returned to work, so I guess that means I've retired.  I might go back into the working world if the right opportunity presents itself.  Yet, it is nice not to deal with the stresses of schedules and commuting.

Most days you will find me either in the garden or out and about seeking new, exciting plants in the area nurseries since I am an avid gardener! Year round gardening in our perfect climate keeps me quite busy. In addition to my gardening, I attend weekly yoga and Feldenkrais classes, take long daily walks, and serve on a non-profit board of directors. Because we are in such close proximity to San Francisco and San Jose, we enjoy all the cultural opportunities available to us, especially the symphony, opera, and ballet. Of course we feel blessed with having both the beautiful mountains and ocean nearby.

Lately I have been busy planning a Chicago reunion of my nursing school class for October. This will be our first reunion. Boy, trying to locate these folks I haven't seen or contacted for 47 years is quite a challenge.  (This helps me appreciate all the work going into our high school 50th reunion by those on the committee. Thank you.) Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend the reunion because we will be traveling in Turkey and the Czech Republic throughout September. The reunion sounds like fun and I'm sorry I will miss it since I have never attended any of the reunions.  I would love to hear from any of my friends from high school and look forward to future reunions.

After high School, I attended Lake Forest College for two years and transferred to the University of Wisconsin where I received a degree in Elementary Education.  In August, I married my current husband Jerry Shea and we moved to Boston for a year.  I taught first grade in Wakefield, Massachusetts.  We then moved to Minneapolis and our son Jeffrey was born there. Then it was back to Madison where Jerry practiced law until 1999.  Jennifer was born in 1965 and I raised our family and did lots of volunteer work.  We now divide our time between Madison, Spring Lake and Cocoa Beach Florida- (I've seen enough snow)  Our son lives in Minneapolis and is an attorney with US Bank and has three children.  Our daughter is in Kohler, Wisconsin raising two children where her husband works for the Kohler Company.  Our grandchildren are six, seven, eight, nine, and seven months and it is wild when we are all get together.  Looking forward to our 50th.

Sopping up SS benefits for a few years, but retired? Never. Did a few jobs in Milwaukee after graduating UWM in 64, and then hit the Washington DC area. Did electronic engineering for 25 years, for various "Beltway Bandits" which are x number of guys, a xerox machine and a coffee pot, who have political connections, make a good pitch as technical experts, and survive well at the public funds trough. I worked for clients such as the Navy, NASA, FBI, CIA, and other usual suspects. Sometimes fun, but mostly pointless. A life changing moment in the early 90's propelled me into my present lifesyle, which you can read about at http://www.newdirections.ws/newdirection.html My life ambition is to be able to afford to lay on some beach in Spain and read all those good books that I have been putting off. Don't think it will happen, though.

From Karen:

After high school graduation, I worked in the office of Waukesha Foundry.  In 1960 I married Wendell Smith and soon started a family.  Shortly after we were married, we bought a small mini-farm in Delafield and started our collection of animals.  In 1971 we bought a small dairy farm in the Town of Lebanon in Dodge County where we still live.

In between raising a family and helping with farm chores, I went back to school at Madison Area Tech and earned an Associate Degree in Mid-Management/Accounting.  I worked as Purchasing agent at Watertown Memorial Hospital for 28 years.  Wendell and I are now both retired and enjoying the good life!  We have done some traveling with our small fifth-wheeler but our favorite place is our log cabin on the peaceful Peshtigo River in Marinette County.

We have three children.  Kim and husband Scott have three children, Meghan 23 yrs., Jeff who is 21 yrs and Steven who is 17 and still in high school.  Pam lives near Mosinee, WI and is married to Paul and has a big black dog, and our son Jay and wife Rachel are parents of our other two grandchildren, Kaitlyn who is 13 and Jacob who is 11 yrs old.  We’ve been fortunate to have our five grandchildren near by and be able to watch them grow up and that makes us very busy attending their activities.

We’ll be at the reunion and look forward to a fun time.

From Richard:

I worked as a carpenter and mason in my family business.

Enlisted in the army in 1961. (Signal Corp.)  Deployed to Germany in Jan. 1962 and remained there until my discharge in May of 1964.

Once I was discharged, I moved to Arizona.  After taking it easy for a few months and traveling, I got a job in construction renovating residential properties.  At that time, I met my first wife.  We married in 1965 and were divorced in 1991.  We had two children.

After some schooling in communications, I was hired by the AT&SF railroad as a relief agent.  I worked there for some time, but realized that the future for the railroad wasn’t looking very bright.  I then went to work for Sperry flight systems division as a quality control inspector.  Sperry designed and manufactured auto pilot systems for commercial and military air craft.  I decided that I wanted to try real estate and stayed in it for four years.

In 1977 I had an opportunity to move to Steam Boat Springs, Colorado and work for a construction company as a superintendent on large commercial and residential properties.  I had visited there several times and loved the area.  It was a great place to hunt and fish which I enjoyed.  After the down turn in the economy in 1984, I decided to return to Arizona once again.  I started my own construction company.  After about ten years, I made a decision to return to Wisconsin because of my family.  Shortly after returning, I met my wife, Barbara, and we were married in 2000.  I have continued working in construction since being back and enjoy what I do.

P.S.  I would like to thank everyone involved for the time and effort they put into the 50th class reunion.  Congratulations for a fantastic job!
